FAQs

Who can have Spinal Flow?

Everyone can have Spinal Flow, all ages, and all stages of life. Because it’s so gentle there are no medical contraindications. The founder of Spinal Flow always says if you have a spine, you can benefit from Spinal Flow!

What can I expect in a Spinal Flow Session?

After an initial assessment, we move into Spinal Flow sessions of about 30 minutes. You will lie face down and relax, accompanied by music; we won’t talk. I will use a gentle touch on your head and spine and will be tracking changes in your body. I encourage you to deeply connect and feel your body allowing it to breathe or move as it wants to.

How will the session feel?

In a session, the aim is for you to connect deeply with your body and during this time it would be typical to experience any of the following:

Deep relaxation, emotions, increased breathing capacity,  twitches or movements, sleepiness, temperature changes, laughter, tears, visions, or realisations. Sometimes the oddest things can happen, in one of my first sessions, my left ear felt watery and warm!

Each person responds differently and every session can be different for the same person.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on what you want to get out of your sessions. People come to Spinal Flow for many reasons from simple relaxation to healing. It also depends on how much stress your body is holding - we will assess this in the first session. Finally, it’s also down to your body because it has innate intelligence and may be ready to let go in a few sessions or it may need more time.

The most effective way to receive spinal flow initially is frequently over a short time frame and then reduced for maintenance. A typical plan could be 12 sessions 3 or 4 times a week for 4 or 3 weeks.

What can I expect after a session?

Often people feel very relaxed after a session and many report feeling lighter. Symptoms may improve or may get worse for a short time as layers of stress are peeled away.

What should I wear?

Please feel comfortable and relaxed. Loose, thin joggers are ideal for the sessions, avoid jeans or tight fitness pants with thick seams.
